Autumn in Korea

The cool autumn breeze and the refreshing air is a perfect way to enjoy the season

Autumn is one of the most beautiful times in Korea. The temperature drops, leaves turn yellow and red, and everyone becomes more comfortable wearing fewer clothes. This blog post will show you the best places to see Autumn leaf in Korean Park (Seoul Garden) including Namsan Park & Yeouido Park & Sky Park! Make sure not to miss out on this amazing season!

Namsan is a symbol of Seoul located in the center of Seoul. Its height is 265m, and it was named ‘Namsan’ because it is a mountain in the south.

Namsan Park

Namsan Park is one of the most popular parks in Korea because it has amazing views of all four seasons. You can even go on an adventure off-trail for some great photo ops!

There are several things to see on Namsan Hill, including the N Seoul Tower transmission tower and other attractions like Palgakjeong Pavilion and Namsan Bonghwadae. You can see everything that is going on in Seoul if you climb to the top. The view is said to be stunning.

Traditional performances for tourists, including Samulnori and martial arts displays, are held every day from 3 pm at the top of Namsan Mountain. It is not known to many people during the flower season, although it is a wonderful spot to view flowers in an outdoor botanical garden or on a walking route.

When compared to other areas of Seoul, the autumn colors come late here. The finest period to enjoy the autumn leaf is between mid-November and mid-December for 1-2 weeks. There are several locations along the old Hanyang Fortress Wall that may be visited next to, and at night, the lights are turned on to create a subtle atmosphere.

Yeouido Park

@kmib

Yeouido Park is another amazing park (Seoul Garden) that offers a serene environment to enjoy the fall foliage. Its close proximity to Seoul and beautiful landscapes make it one of the top attractions in the autumn season! Not only does Yeouido serve as an escape from busy city life, but also provides some great photo opportunities for those who love photography.

The Yeouido Park, which was built on the runway site in 1971 and renamed Yeouido Plaza, has grown to become a location in charge of numerous national events and recreational activities. The renewal of the Yeouido Park as a green refuge began in January 1999 and is located near Nodeul Naru, where the Hangang cruise ships.

@senseofk

The park is divided into a Korean forest, a grass field, a cultural field, and a natural ecology forest. As traces of the Yeouido Plaza era, the Culture Madang and bike lanes throughout the park may be seen amongst them. It is both a park/Seoul garden and a resting location for office workers and visitors who work in the area surrounding.

There are a lot of cherry trees in Yeouido Park, and it’s especially lovely to visit during the cherry blossom season. During this period, the city of Seoul holds the Cherry Blossom Festival in Yeouido, and the park is extremely crowded. The overall form of the pond in Yeouido Park behind the Kookmin Ilbo building is unique, but if you look closely, you can see that it is inspired by the shape of Seoul. It’s also near Yeouido Hangang Park, which is one of Seoul’s municipal parks.

World Cup Park

World Cup Park is a great place to go for a stroll and enjoy the fall foliage, especially when you are looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of Seoul city. It’s one of my favorite places in Seoul because it has amazing scenery with breath-taking autumn colors that make your jaw drop every time!

The project was launched in October 1999 to commemorate the 17th World Cup Soccer Tournament in 2002 and to restore the Nanjido landfill contaminated with municipal waste to a natural ecosystem. It includes Pyeonghwa Park, Nanjicheon Park, Nanji Hangang Park, and Noeul Park, among other parks, which surround the World Cup

The terrain of the park is divided into various areas: silver grassland, pure grassland, rock garden, mixed grassland, sunflower, buckwheat, rest area with an observatory tower and observatory, and wind power generator.

@senseofk

Haneul Park is unique in that it exploits natural energy to power its facilities. Using five huge pinwheels and generating 100kW of electricity, the park uses nature’s energy to produce 100kW of electricity. Natural gas fuel is also delivered to the World Cup Stadium and surrounding areas via methane gas refining and processing from garbage heaps.

There are two options for reaching the peak: take the World Cup Park overpass and climb the steps of eco-friendly wood or take the shuttle bus that operates between World Cup Stadium and Haneul Park. It is the highest point on Nanjido, with views of Bukhansan to the north, Namsan, and 63 Building.

Deoksugung

The Joseon Dynasty’s palace. It was originally a separate palace for the royal family, but it became the primary residence after the Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592 and served as an imperial mansion during Korea’s Empire.

Su, the name of the ‘Deoksugung Palace’s Su,’ wishes for the long life (long life) of previous kings. Although the palace is still standing, its name can vanish from history as soon as that of the emperor ended. Because he violently abdicated the throne to Sunjong, King Gojong inhabited different palaces in his lifetime. After the emperor abdicated the throne, Sunjong chose ‘Deoksu’ as the name of the palace for the emperor, and Deoksugung (Residence of King Gojong) became Deoksugung from that point. The palace name Deoksugung was subsequently employed to express love and yearning for King Gojong, the final king of Korea’s Joseon dynasty, by those who had lost their nation.

@SeongPhil Jang

The stone wall walkway is the specialty of Deoksugung Palace. There was a tale that lovers would break up if they walked along the stone wall road to its end, as it was once used to transport people through Seoul’s family court.

Autumn is a season of change and transition, and this road of Deoksugung Doldam-gil, which appears in the songs of numerous singers, reflects that. On the streets, artists sell paintings and sing songs.

At 11 a.m., 2 p.m., and 3:30 p.m., the changing of the guard takes place at Daehanmun Gate. The ceremony is not held on Mondays.

It is a palace with a mixture of Korean and Western styles remaining in East Asia, and it is an indispensable place in Korean modern history.

Adults (those over the age of 25) pay an admission fee of 1,000 won when visiting, and the ticketing time is until 20:00 with a check-out time of 21. They are open every night, unlike other palaces.
